the collar in this photo was made with Manos del Uruguay yarns

My Neck's Best Thing

This collar was designed to wear during my cranberry harvest.

It served two very important purposes.

During harvest, we spend 12 hours a day in chest waders. The bottom portion of our bodies stay toasty.

BUT

When the Oregon Coast winds come up it can get very chilly.

My Neck's Best Thing was just the ticket for keeping the chill off my neck and shoulders.

The other purpose... in a brown chest-wader world, was a chance to dress up!

I added tassels at the points and small bells.

They add music to my moves...

(there is a circular version also included in the pattern)
